Hearing God in Everyday Life: Finding Him in the Ordinary Moments

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him.” — Psalm 145:18

Devotional Thought

A few years ago, I was mowing the lawn… just doing a mundane task, not thinking about God at all.

And out of nowhere, He interrupted my thinking.

I’d been carrying a bad attitude toward some other Christians… judging, creating distance in my heart.

And God asked me:

“What if my next great move came through them?”

That stopped me.

Right there, mower in hand, I repented… and His presence filled me again. His love, real and overwhelming.

Not in church. Not in a “spiritual moment.”

In the ordinary.

It shifted something in me.

God isn’t confined to environments — He’s found in relationship.

And often, He’s speaking in the moments we least expect.

Where might you be overlooking God in your everyday life?

“God, open my eyes to see You in the ordinary. Shift my awareness so I don’t miss what You’re doing right in front of me.”
